Linguistical Miracle!
As Ramadan comes to end, we all hope that we have reaped the benefits of this month and Inshaallah will keep our improvements and continue to improve even after the month is over Inshaallah (God-willing), Ameen.
I think everyone would agree that it’s very important for us to understand what we read. We can’t go through a school textbook and not understand what it is we’re supposed to be learning. In the same way we cannot read the Quran without having an understanding of what we are reading. In order to gain the full benefit of the Quran, it is important for us to read the translation of the meaning.
For those of us that want to get even deeper into dissecting the ayat (verses) of the Quran, there is a website that not only gives you the translation but also breaks down the meaning of each word in each ayat of the Quran!
Check out the website and Inshaallah I hope that it encourages you to learn more about the Miracle of the Quran (because a part of its miracle is the way that it is written; it cannot be duplicated–and people have tried!)

Islamaphobia: Al Maghrib Institute on CNN
With the recent controversy of the new mosque being built near ground zero, CNN aired quite a positive interview (conducted by Deborah Feyerick) with some of the Shaykhs of Al Maghrib Institute including Shaykhs Jamal Zarabozo, Waleed Basyouni, Yasir Qadhi, and Wissam Sharieff. This goes in accompaniment to the August 12th interview that was aired. Check it out and send your thanks to CNN for “presenting a positive piece on Islam and Muslims in the West.”

The 99 Superheroes
In a world where the vision of Islam is continuously muddled though the media and the actions of a few, one man sought to rethink what the ideals of Islam can do to unify people through the values that everyone has in common, values like honesty, mercy, and foresight. Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa, a clinical psychologist licensed in New York state and trained at Bellevue Hospital’s survivors of political torture program, wanted to create characters that his five sons, as well as children from across every cultural and religious spectrum could look up to. And thus, The 99 were created.
The Quran Speaks – Literally!
In the month of the Quran it cannot be emphasized enough that one of our main goals should be becoming closer to the Holy Book which is a guidance to mankind.
In light of this, a great new way to approach the Quran was introduced at the recent DC Hidayah conference that was held last weekend, August 7th -8th , at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington DC.
Dubbed the “One Touch Mushaf Teacher”, the product is an actual leather bound Quran that comes with an electronic pen. As the reader, you simple have to touch the pen to a verse,
